As we come to the end of this nine-year cycle, we are here at the solstice. For those of us in the northern hemisphere, this is the longest night of the year. It is a night of celebration, acknowledging the power of stillness before moving deeper into light. It is a moment to acknowledge the beauty and depth of darkness.
When we hear the term “dark”, it usually triggers the feeling of something “bad”, but the truth is that light and dark are opposite ends of the same spectrum. We exist within the balance, moving back and forth, accessing both for our evolution of consciousness.
All that we encounter provides opportunity to step deeper into union with ourselves, which brings us into conscious union with all that exists. We are one with the universe, dancing in the rhythms of Earth’s cycles, making the solstice a mirror of our own journey. The longest night: a moment in our lesson to embrace the darkness for transformation.
If we allow ourselves to go within, to be introspective and acknowledge what we hold, we will find aspects of both light and dark. There are deep, hidden spaces within our consciousness that have remained untouched for extended periods of time. There are aspects and experiences that we have moved our conscious attention away from, but those aspects are not gone…they have merely been left out of the light of acknowledgement. So to journey into our personal darkness is to journey into the depths of the soul. It is a journey of self-recognition, meant to heal and illuminate compassion and self-love - to love and acknowledge who you are, unconditionally. It is an opportunity to transform what we have held in darkness into light.
I love myself as I am.
In the last nine years, you have experienced and grown through many things. Some things you may celebrate, others you hold in judgment and regret. What you choose to hold in darkness is light that has been left unresolved and without forgiveness.
You have now reached the end of another cycle, which asks you to go within and acknowledge your journey. The good and bad are determined by perspective. In light, you are able to witness the lessons and appreciate all that you have grown through, respectively. This is your spiritual evolution. You and what you hold, whether in darkness or light, is an aspect of you. Will you allow yourself a moment of reflection to embrace YOU, as you are, dark and light in tow?
You are an amazing person. You are love, even when you fail to claim it; it is true. And to love yourself, as you are, you cannot pick and choose which aspects of you are lovable. It’s the whole shebang! YOU ARE LOVE. You are light. On this night, the longest night of the year, go deep and fall into an enormous bow of gratitude for every aspect and experience that has made you the radiant being that stands before you.
May you find peace in the acknowledgement of your journey. May you honor yourself, an expression of light, free from judgment and regret. May you give thanks for all that has helped you evolve along the way. May you embrace the darkness with so much reverence that only light comes through.
Journey in love,
