We often hear about the importance of remaining positive, but it can be a real challenge to see the light at the end of the tunnel…especially when the tunnel seems never-ending.
So what do you do when you can’t see an end to your circumstance?
Do you run in the darkness, hoping to find a glimpse of light, or do you close your eyes and give up, hoping the light will somehow seek you out instead?
You could try those methods, but you would be better off using what you have in order to navigate with purpose and clear intention. So, what do you have? More than you realize!
First of all, you have the power of observation. Instead of fighting blindly or allowing what feels blinding to get the best of you, look with all of your senses.
You weren’t always in this space…so what got you here? If you open your eyes (heart and mind) and look with awareness, you may find that there are fragments of light right in front of you…or all around you. The problem is that we tend to get caught in the trappings of believing we are in a tunnel…and with tunnel vision, right?
Here you are, in this tunnel…looking for one exit. Why? Because you assume all tunnels are the same? Because you have only heard of that ONE light at the end of this ONE tunnel? What if you were told this instead:
There are many lights within every tunnel, you only need to choose which to illuminate.
Trust your inner-wisdom. Allow the mind expand through the release of fear, doubt and worry. Begin to breathe with awareness, calming your mind, body and energies. What if everything ends up better than you can imagine? What if things aren’t as bad as you imagine? What if you choose to take action that supports YOU rather than allowing the tunnel to multiply in size?
You may not always like your options, but it does not mean that options do not exist.
Next, identify your roads and start mapping. No matter which step you take, you will cause a shift. And if you refuse to act, action will occur without YOUR guidance. When you are able to find balance between heart and mind, you see with more clarity, and you may find that there are multiple solutions to finding positive resolve. Again, there are several lights surrounding you…
...you only need to choose which path to light for navigation.
Make noise. If you need to let it out along the way, let it out! Scream, cry, feel…release the weight of burden. Sometimes we think we are in a tunnel simply because we have allowed so much internal build up that we can no longer see straight! Our tears create pathways of release. Freeing your emotion allows your energies to flow with more ease, which in turn allows you to see with more clarity.
And remember that you are never alone. Ask for help. Pray to the Divine. Share your thoughts and feelings with a friend or loved one. Through exchange, we often shift our perspective or become more able to see that we were never in a tunnel to begin with.
Research. There may be options you haven’t considered…and with today’s technology, you can find guidance in countless ways and from countless people. But again, trust your inner-guidance, even when seeking help from an external source.
Keep in mind all you DO have. Consider what you have learned along the way. And again, you were not always in this space and you won’t be in this space forever. No matter what you feel, gratitude is like carrying a flashlight, ensuring you will never suffer complete tunnel vision again.
Journey in LOVE.
