Many people believe that how we start the day influences how we will flow throughout the rest of the day. Of course, there is always the potential for a shift in energy, but starting with a clear and relaxed mind really does make a difference!
I have made it a practice, for several years now, to start my day in meditation. Yes, there are days when I choose not to, and I have to admit, I tend to feel and function much better when I DO make the commitment to sit and connect with myself. As simple as it may sound, there is something very nurturing about taking the time to honor and acknowledge your being BEFORE stepping out into the world.
We are in a constant state of taking in information; whether through cell phones, television or exchanges with other people. Information is constantly pouring in, reshaping our energy and influencing HOW we perceive and interact with the world around us. But what if you were outside of the noise and able to SEE from a higher point of view; then how would you navigate through your day...and life?
There is a tendency to focus outwardly, and why not...there are so many distractions. But in the midst of all that occurs outside of you, do you take the time to check in with what you FEEL, what matters to you and how you function outside of the noise? Who are you beyond the influence?
Imagine if you took the time to disconnect from the barrage of thoughts/noise and allowed yourself to reconnect with just YOU, at least once a day. It's likely that you will experience:
If you choose to start your day with social media, news, unclear conversations, etc - you have already put your mind, body and spirit into a state of chaos. This sets you up to function from a space of anxiety, mental distortion and frustration.
On the other hand, imagine if you started your day in a state of calm and peace, consciously. By meditating in the morning, you allow the mind to transition into a space of clarity and encourage the body to relax on the flow of your breath. You shape and PREPARE your energy, choosing how you want to enter the day ahead.
From this space, you begin the day with an awareness of YOUR field of energy, which helps you to observe the world around you, without getting lost in the potential chaos. Just see it; don't be it (chaos/noise)...and begin to interact from a space of neutrality.
Peace. Peace. Peace.
