Welcome to Wisdom Wednesday! Earlier this week we discussed partial endings. Today we will explore another aspect of endings, specific to completion.
When we use the term “completion”, we are inferring that something has reached its conclusion, or has come to an end. While this is understandable and logical, I want to take a closer look, examining where completions lead, or become.
The first thing that comes to mind is the evolution of things. This brings me back to the question I posed on Monday, “Where do endings end?” With the process of evolution, does anything actually reach completion?
While an ending may take place, the situation, process, or circumstance may not have reached its conclusion. In fact, endings are part of transformation, birthing new channels of existence. For example, when we end a relationship, it hasn’t necessarily concluded. Sometimes our relationships take new form; ending the way it was, and redefining what it will become. Even when various situations have ended, we have new opportunities, taking elements of what we learned into our next experiences. For an artist, he or she may complete a work of art, but their work takes new form and new life when it is shared with others. Completion is merely a gateway of continuation.
Aside from things taking new form, there is also a cyclical system of things. This is evident with each sunrise and sunset. As one day ends, a new day begins. It’s a new day, but a continuation of life itself. When we recognize the beauty of endings, we are able to recognize the gift of transformation…new beginnings. All things come to an end, but the key is understanding that endings are not an end.
Until next time…
Peace and Blessings!
