“Take it one breath at a time…” – Yolanda
Welcome to Meditation Monday! Last week we discussed ownership of our journeys and the benefits of self-love. This week's meditation is focused on finding our pace; creating our own rhythms.
At one time or another, we have been told to take it (life) one day at a time. This can be difficult, and understandably so, as each day is filled with varying differences. Day to day there is a commonality, though; if we have been given the gift of a new day, we are experiencing a series of breaths. That being said, let’s make each day a little easier by pacing ourselves…taking it (life) one breath at a time.
First, we have to remember to breathe. Yes, it is an automatic process, although there are times when we are holding tension within our bodies, causing our breath to be shallow. While this shallow breathing sustains our life-force, it can also limit or restrict our levels of vibration. To make this more clear, try the following:
· Take a deep breath, feeling the air travel beyond your chest, into your stomach. As you slowly exhale, allow your shoulders to relax.
· Take another deep breath, feeling the air travel to each part of your body. As you slowly exhale, allow relaxation to settle all over.
· Take a moment, feel your breath. What does it feel like in your body when you inhale? What is the sensation when you exhale?
It’s more than likely that you feel more relaxed and calm than before you began this exercise. The point is to show how our breath can shift our energies. When we open channels for our breath to flow more freely, we raise our energetic vibrations.
Now that we have a better understanding about the flow of our breath, let’s get back to our pacing.
When we remember to pause and focus on our breathing, we give ourselves space to release tension and process with clearer minds. In this, we have an opportunity to create more harmony through our actions. When we take life one breath at a time, we are more apt to deal with life in a place of calm, rather than chaos. We give ourselves a better chance of being proactive, rather than reactive. We find our highest and best rhythm. With this practice, we are also breaking our days down into moments. We are bringing our focus into the present…to our breath.
This week we are going to continue discussing our pacing, with focus on impatience. Join me for Wisdom Wednesday.
Until next time...
Peace and Blessings!
