Welcome to Wisdom Wednesday! Earlier this week we explored the power of pacing and connecting with our natural rhythm. Today’s discussion remains in this area, with focus on impatience.
Desire runs high, often leaving us in a space of wanting what we want, right now! Not only is it common to want immediate results or instant gratification, these options are now commonly available to us through various forms of technology. We’ve gone from snail-mail to email, from shopping store to store, to ordering online. We text, video-chat, and avoid getting lost by activating GPS systems. The things that we have to wait for are dwindling in numbers, so when we have to wait, it can be frustrating. In all of this, our natural rhythms are shifting, adapting to the pace of our new world. Of course, the advancement in technologies is amazingly beneficial in many ways, and often times make life a bit easier – more convenient. For our own benefit, though, we have to maintain our inner-pace, releasing the energetic chaos of impatience. In the realm of impatience, our thoughts become consumed with end results, and our minds race with anticipation when the results are not immediate. This leads to stress, tension within the body, and projection of unsettled energies. We may even find that our energies become frantic, as we land on the edge, waiting for desires to be fulfilled. Now, let’s look at the virtues of patience. When we are patient, not only are we supporting balanced energies, but we also accept that things will happen in their time. We relinquish control, to some extent. In doing this, we open space for things to occur naturally, which may be better than we could have expected to begin with. More importantly, we can remain calm within our natural rhythm, rather than being provoked by pacing that is outside of our control. Impatience may lead us to pushing too hard, disturbing the outcome we actually desired. Conversely, when we remain patient, there is more harmony in energetic flow. Ultimately, the right action will unfold in its own time. True, we won’t always get exactly what we want, right now, but that is a separate issue. When we create space, allowing patience to guide us, the best is yet to come! Until next time… Peace and Blessings! Yolanda
