“Truth is, regardless of our acceptance!” – Yolanda
Welcome to Meditation Monday! Last week we uncovered our truths to illuminate our intentions. This week's meditation is about understanding our truths, so we can choose to embrace them as they are, or create new truths that align with our highest and best purposes.
Let’s be clear; we cannot change or erase truth, but we do have choice to create new truths for ourselves. Again, truth cannot be changed, so I am not suggesting that we make things up. Even if a person lies, the truth remains. What we can do is create new truth that is exactly that…true! For example, if you are not pleased with your current circumstances, create new circumstances. The truth of your matter then becomes something new. It does not change the truth of what your circumstances were, nor does it erase what your circumstances were, but it does become your new truth.
On the other hand, there are truths that we are able to embrace. It may not be what we want, or necessarily like, but we are able to recognize that it is truth. Let’s go back to the example of circumstances that you may not be pleased with. If there is an understanding of reason, the truth becomes easier to swallow. Perhaps your choice would then be to embrace the truth of your matter, rather than creating something new.
Of course, there are different versions of truth, altered by perspective, but there’s a bottom-line, making truth impervious to interpretation. We can also try to deny it or attempt to avoid it, but truth will remain unscathed by our want. The key is understanding that truth is. We can either embrace it, or create truth from scratch, but it cannot be changed or erased.
As you journey through this week, notice what you embrace as truth. Be aware of what you attempt to deny. Notice which truths you are able to sit with, versus truths you’re trying to escape. When you look at the truth of your matter, are you satisfied? List which truths support your highest and best interests. In truth, are you in the role of creator or victim?
This week we are going to continue discussing truth, with focus on acceptance. Join me for Wisdom Wednesday.
Until next time...
Peace and Blessings!
