“Satisfaction is a gift that comes in many packages.” – Yolanda Welcome to Meditation Monday! Last week we discussed understanding and accepting truth, as well as stepping out of denial. This week's meditation is focused on satisfaction.
It seems that satisfaction is often a tall order to fill. We find ourselves, more often than not, in a state of want, which leads us on a constant quest for more than we already have. Do we fear that satisfaction leads to stagnation? When we are not satisfied, we feel something needs to change. The key is recognizing what change needs to occur; otherwise satisfaction becomes a fleeting sensation. The most beneficial changes occur within. No matter what we attempt to change around us, we will never become fully satisfied until we are satisfied within ourselves. Have you ever met someone who seems to have everything, outwardly, but lack contentment? The void is internal. On the other hand, there are many who are complete within themselves, without much of the material, and yet they are satisfied. Okay, so how do we get there? While material things do provide comforts for many of us, today let’s focus on what satisfies us on a different level. The first thing that comes to mind is love. Love provides comforts that cannot be rivaled. Imagine if loving feelings were constant, flowing through us, regardless of circumstance. Well, love is constant. Love is an energy that is part of our natural being. To sustain loving vibrations, we must nurture our love of self. When we are able to love ourselves, unconditionally, and are satisfied with who we are at the core, we will have obtained one of life’s greatest gifts: the ability to truly give and receive love. This is one of the most satisfying energetic exchanges of all. · What are three qualities you are proud to have? Can you say you love these things about yourself? Do you find satisfaction in knowing you possess these qualities? · How does giving love make you feel? How does receiving love make you feel? Would you say love, in itself, is satisfying? · When you are not satisfied within, do you find it is more difficult to exchange loving vibrations? Another satisfying act is sharing. As with love, sharing is most satisfying in a back and forth motion. The true gifts exist in the exchange. · How do you feel when you share with others? How do you feel when you receive from others? · Which is more satisfying, and why? An important thing to note is that exchanges do not need to mirror. We may smile at someone and receive a warm “hello” in exchange. What was shared doesn’t mirror, but when we give from the heart and receive in loving gratitude, we feel a sense of satisfaction. As you go through this week, acknowledge what gives you a sense of satisfaction…things that cannot be purchased. If you notice you are dissatisfied, go within and examine why. Ask yourself what changes need to be made, within, to bring you into a state of contentment. Look at yourself before you jump to change anything else. This week we are going to continue exploring the energies of satisfaction, with focus on vanity. Join me for Wisdom Wednesday. Until next time... Peace and Blessings! Yolanda
