Welcome to Wisdom Wednesday! Today we will explore the beauty and benefits of remaining impartial.
There are three sides to every situation: yours, theirs, and a space of neutrality. When your side differs from their side, reason can be found in the neutral space. Often times we disagree, and can’t seem to hear the other view because we are so wrapped up in defending ours. The problem is that when this occurs, both views (including valuable information) get lost in translation.
If we take a step back into neutral space and remain impartial, we may find value in what seemed to be an opposing opinion. This is middle ground where space is held for compromise, and you come to understand there were connective threads between both views, all along.
Sometimes we play a different role in this trifecta. The three sides then become that person, this person, and you. Although you have been positioned in one of three sides, this is not really your issue. Somehow, you have been thrown in the middle, or walked into the middle of your own accord. Either way, if you find yourself here, the best stance to take is an impartial one.
Now you are the neutral space, listening to both sides without judgment. You hear what is being said, and can detect what is not being heard. You are able to be still, allowing answers to come without bias. From this impartial view, you can help create oneness.
